watch was created as a special edition by Tag Heuer to celebrate Steve
McQueen's 75th Birthday. The Silver Dial (accented with bold Orange
(some might call it red) and blue accents) was designed to match the
original "Gulf" (as in Gulf Oil Company) Racing Suit Steve
McQueen wore in his role as a professional race car driver in LeMans.
The dial perfectly matches the original "Gulf" Racing Suit
Steve McQueen wore in the movie. The original "GULF" logo is
prominently featured on the dial above the 6:00 hour marker, although
sadly, without the Gulf Oil insignia. This is the first individually
numbered special edition Monaco released since the1999 Re-Edition of the
orignal Heuer Monaco-(Completely sold out and made in only 5000

(with seconds as well) stopwatch with 12-hour recording window mounted
on a 4mm stainless steel chromed plate with turning bezel. In its
original box with original instructions, original warranty, plastic
protector collar and 3 of the 4 original mounting screws and nuts. In
excellent, almost perfect condition and works like new. Slight cleaning
scratches on plexiglass face that could be easily buffed out. Small
scratches around mounting holes . Bought new in 1969-1970, I am the
original owner. Little use as I quit rallying in 1971. It has been in
its box inside of a sealed plastic bag in a warm storage place since
