| wedgwood tricolor biscuit barrel |
this is a smaller than the usual size in biscuit barrels so may
have been intended for something else but i have no idea what. it is a
very pale green colour - jasper dip. it has a yellow trellis design as
well as white relief. i presume the lid, handle and rim are epns but can
find no markings to confirm this. i'd also say the epns has been cleaned
regularly and whatever was used has left slight stains on the body. as
it is such a pale green shade these can be seen if you look closely.
they do not detract from the piece. it is perfect - no damage or chips.
underneath it is impressed wedgwood and an s and an a or a v or a p -
not sure and other 4dot marks but no 3 letter date code |

shapes catalogue and the attributes closely mirrored. the dish has the
green leaf moulded border, two handles and is channelled for the
purposes of serving and storing meat. the item impressed wedgwood under
the base accompanied by a letter v as pictured. condition; the lid
perfect with no damage whatsoever, the body a repair to one handle and a
small chip to the vent hole otherwise perfect, unsurprisingly the lid

| wedgwood lustre powder bowl and cover dating from about 1925. it is
superbly painted with gold gilt tigers to the lid and dragons to the
outside of the bowl against a vibrant orange ground. the inside of the
bowl and lid has a wonderful motif in gold gilt to the base against a
mottled blue/mauve ground. the lid is finished with a woman wearing a
shroud in gold gilt. this bowl measures 6" in diameter by just over
5" high. the bowl is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks
or restoration. there is the slightest wear to the gilding to the lady
on the lid but this is barely noticeable. the wedgwood factory mark is
on the base along with a hand painted z4825 x. the backstamp leads me to
believe that this may be an early daisy makeig-jones design dating from
1914. |
