| Panda with a ball in the blue colourway from Beswick.This 738 model was designed by Mr. Watkin, issued in 1939 and discontinued in 1954. The model was more common in the black & white or cream finish so this is quite a rare find. The condition of the panda is excellent, no chips, cracks or restoration but does have light age related crazing to the glaze. | blue matte finish blue jay. The bottom reads BESWICK ENGLAND BLUE JAY. There is an indented number 2188 and two different numbers handpainted in black paint. One is 16, near the hole in the bottom and the other looks like a 4. It has no turqouise tones to it. It is a rich, light blue in tones from lighter to darker. The black is very crisp against it, and the white is muted in the matte finish. The perch is green and the stick brown, with the bird legs being gray. There are no chips or cracks that I can find. The entire piece has a rough feel to it, without the glossy finish. I had it sitting on a wall shelf for a few years, so it could use a gentle cleaning which I will leave up to the new owner.
