| vintage LeCoultre solid 14K white gold manually-wound gent's watch with diamonds dial, manufactured in 1950's. CASE: The 32 x 36 mm (not counting a winding crown) solid 14K white gold case is in clean shiny close to mint condition, no dents, scratches or inscriptions. The watch has a beautifully-patterned "Florentine" bezel. The winding crown is original signed "LeC". The crystal is clean and free of scratches. DIAL: The silver-tone dial is mint. There is an original set of white-gold hands and hour indices with real factory diamonds, and a classic second's sub-dial at "6". The dial is signed as "LeCoultre. Swiss." MOVEMENT: The movement used in this watch is a rare 17 jewels Swiss Made LeCoultre caliber K818/CW decorated with "Geneve stripes", one of the perfect manually-wound calibers of this old brand. The watch runs strong and keeps excellent time. | early 1950's LeCoultre stainless steel chronograph with a Valjoux 72 movement. The watch is about 35.5mm in diameter not including the crown. The watch is signed on the movement, the dial and on the case back. The chronograph functions flawlessly, with all functions reseting quickly, effortlessly and accurately where they should (to zero or otherwise). The dial, hands, movement, pushers, case and case back are 100% original. The crown may or may not be original to the piece, but I consider it a period crown and it works flawlessly. The dial is 100% original and has not been reprinted, relaquered or altered in any way. The luminous no longer glows and is deeply patinated on both the dial, hour and minute hands. The second hand and subsidiary hands are blued steel and are beautiful. All in all, the dial condition rates a 9.5/10. there is a small amount of oxidation that is difficult to see around the edge at 5 o'clock. The movement was fully serviced less than one year ago and needs nothing. The case is in excellent condition retaining it's original brushed/polished interfaces and facets. It is similar to the "Bradley II" (also known as the "ship's wheel" or "bottle cap"), however the fancy ribbon lugs don't extend around the entire perimeter of the watch.
