| 13" tall crown-lidded vase, painted and signed by one of Royal Worcesters most famous and sought after fruit artists-John Freeman. The shape is 2048 and this is the largest version of this shape. The piece measures 13" to the tip of the finial. The lid itself is a work of art, being beautifully gilded and pierced. The painting is of Apples, Grapes and blueberries all in a leafy background. On the reverse is a bunch of raspberries. There is no damage whatsoever, no scratches, and the gilding is in superb condition. | Chamberlain Worcester Vessel It shows Leed's Kirkstall Abbey. Kirkstall Abbey was founded in 1152 by a party of Cistercian monks from Fountains Abbey and was closed down in November 1539 in the Dissolution of religious houses ordered by Henry VIII. This piece stands 25cm (10") tall and is 16cm (6") across at its widest point. Handpainted on the base is: 'Kirkstalll Abbey...' and 'Chamberlains Worcester'. There are other inscriptions too faded to read -. It has restoration to one handle and is missing its lid.
